All the Lights are Changing Green to Yellow

Neither here nor there. It’s not as though I don’t have anything to say. All of you know that’s definitely not the case. I suppose I’m in one of those listening moods these days. There’s so much happening and my mind’s all tapped out. We’re on the brink of some huge changes which I feel are best achieved if I bite my tongue.

Current status:

  • slightly battered; sore right foot from last week’s wet soccer match

  • mixed regarding next week’s Toronto junket; the thought of missing Halloween festivities bums me out
  • unshaven and needing a shower
  • optimistic my daughter won’t get pink eye
  • not feeling like eating even though I should
  • still in love with ice cream
  • somber after visiting my brother’s grave last weekend
  • loving my BlackBerry Pearl heaps
  • stoked our heating ducts will be cleaned out tomorrow
  • contemplative
  • troubled I blew off a Habitat for Humanity charity event today
  • happy to reconnect with peeps I’ve known since my Pac-Man champ days
  • to get a flu shot or not?
  • “present”

  • About lessinges

Seattle native, rediscovering myself after a dormant period the past few years. I like ice cream and The Amazing Race.

How could one fall out of love with ice cream? Seems crazy to me. ;-)

    2. qt says:

Aww – what is Anna going to be for Halloween?

    3. thistle says:

flu’s going around big up here..currently been off work for two days, too many clients with little ones and didn’t want to spread it around but…Don’t.Like.Flu.Shots…so no plans myself to get one…how’s that for oppositional logic…

    4. Amanda says:

You don’t really need to eat a proper meal if you’re in love with ice cream. Right? We get terrible ice cream in Palembang so I’ve been having ice cream here every single day. Aaron too.

    5. Gwen says:

My husband is in Toronto right now. Too bad you guys will miss each other, because I know you were both hoping to make that random bloglove connection, right?

    6. tori says:

We all got flu shots. But my son has asthma, I had cancer, and the doctors said we both needed them and anyone living in the house with us should get them too. You barely feel it and we didn’t have any side effects. Not trying to sway you, just stating facts.
Sometimes ice cream can be real dinner type food, right? Not every day, but sometimes?

    7. churlita says:

I’ve gotten a flu shot for years. I don’t get sick all Winter and after my daughter got meningitis when she was 5, the less illness in our house, the better.

    8. brookem says:

sounds like you’ve got a lot on your mind my friend. sometimes it’s best to just sit back and take it all in.

    9. SM says:

I’ve never known you to bite your tongue. Me on the other hand…I’m biting my tongue about the shower stuff. You know I heart you, right?
Sadly…I think my little man is not liking ice cream. If I eat too much dairy, he’s an upset little boy later on. This makes me a little sad.

    10. Chris says:

      Murphy’s Oil Soap!

    11. I am in almost the same place as Tori. I had cancer, Luke is still very little and we all have to get flu shots.
I’m getting mine at CVS later today and Luke had his on Tuesday.
My thinking? The flu freakin’ sucks, and you certainly don’t want to give it to A. Seriously. I think flu shots are a good thing.

    12. brandy says:

Get the flu shot! Seriously. As much fun as it would be to find the perfect http://www.someecard.com to get you if you DO get sick, I’d rather have a healthy Egan blogging than sick one.

    13. I was going to say no flu shots – they are the devil (and don’t target every mutation of flu) but you have a little one so I won’t interfere.
I love my Blackberry Pearl, too, and cannot figure out how I got along before…
Before this past summer I ate ice cream almost exclusively for a year…(and I quit and gained 5 lbs. Go figure.
Somber after visiting your brother’s grave. I need to find out what happened. My first husband died 7 years ago this month. Sucks. xo

      My forgotten parens. :-)
