- we will board a plane Wednesday destined for the land of deep dish pizza.
- we now have five new neighbors living next door. I arrived home to a toy Star Wars gun in the front yard. Time to fence in the backyard.
- I know the names of three characters in Dora the Explorer books, game on.
- I’ve yet to find the “next Twitter”, but it doesn’t mean I’ve stopped looking.
- the Florida in-laws visit was really nice. Our daughter really enjoyed seeing them again. I’m glad because she’s going to be inundated with more family for the next week.
- I did some gardening for the first time in a couple years, digging up the grassed over veggie beds on the side of our house. Can sprinkler heads disappear?
- work remains busy and I have to say it has been a welcome change.
- later this summer consumers will have the opportunity to buy headsets which can be linked to their cellphones so you can look busy all the time. Get ready for Bluetooth; prepare for the evolution.
- shocked it has been nine years since my mom last worked as part of the US Census team. Seriously, it seemed like maybe five years ago…
- My fear of the post office still remains as I’ve yet to ship a phone to a blogger. I suppose he can wait if it’s a free phone. Damn this nagging procrastinating gene of mine.
- I messed up my MacBook over the weekend trying to reload some software. I stayed up very late Saturday night trying to fix it, but eventually ended up taking it to the local Mac store on Monday. I was afraid it would cost me heaps of money to get the laptop fixed, but I’m happy to report they were much more helpful than I expected and didn’t charge me a penny for a non-warranty repair.
- my daughter said “I missed you daddy” when I picked her up from daycare Tuesday. It definitely made me smile and tear up simultaneously. So darn cute.

Chicago seems to be a hotbed of blogger visits of late – enjoy your time their and say hi to Stephanie for me.
The post office can be fearful but mostly because of their choice of artwork.
“I missed you daddy!” I’m sure it didn’t have the same effect but since you liked it so much, I thought I’d try.
Gardening Rocks! And it is something you and Anna can do together. I dug up a grassed over flower bed this weekend too. It was pouring rain, and I got filthy! I felt just like a little girl making mud pies.
“I missed you daddy” are the most beautiful words at this age, in twenty-two years, the most beautiful words will be, “daddy, I’m financially independent now, let me pay for dinner.”
Hey! I get to go to Chicago soon too. Not as soon as you, but in a few weeks. Have fun.
Your sweet baby girl is growing up.
I think I could name about 15 characters from Dora books
Awwww. That’s so sweet. have fun in Chicago.
Any plans to meet up with any blogger pals in Chicago?
Your daughter melts my heart.
I’m glad the Apple store was helpful. I was very happy with them when I went in this past week while in Sin City looking for some wi-fi.
I’m sure I have more to say but I’ll keep it brief today. Have a safe trip.
It’s so cute when they say “miss you” or “love you.” It makes me all melty when my nephew says that to me!
Hope you’re having a good trip.
I love the Apple store. I have had only good experiences in there, especially ones where I feel remotely high every time I walk in.
I used to live in chicago, you will have to tell us what you did there! Lou Malnati’s or Giordanos??
I would have melted at the “I miss you” comment too!
Hi friend. Hope you are having fun with the in-laws!
Life in dot points. I should try that some day.
You can’t stop flogging Macs, can you fanboy?
Im glad you are learning about Dora for your daughter.
I play Zoo Tycoon just for kids, you know, to stay in touch with their interests. Really! I swear that is all there is to it.
how was your trip? Or are you still in IL?
et dans le sixième mois…
