Riding the Light Rail with Baba

Here she is, Miss Bota. That's Albanian for Miss World or so I've been told by one of her daycare teachers. I just have to say the past few weeks have been nothing short of magical watching her discover the magic that is the holiday season. I'm not going to lie, I will be sad when the lights are removed from houses, when the inflatable Scooby Doo disappears, and when there are no more holidays songs blaring in retail stores. I will have fond memories of Christmas 2009.

Kailyn – I completely agree. She's one cute kid and I'm a doting dad.

  2. kelwhy says:

how did she like the nutcracker, btw?

  3. churlita says:

Awwww. she is adorable. I’m glad you guys had a great holiday.

  4. egan says:

Kelwhy – she loved it. Seriously the girl has been talking about the Nutcracker for three weeks straight since we saw it. Fritz this and Fritz that. She is rather obsessed with Fritz and it’s quite adorable. She talks her Nutcracker books to bed with her and “reads” them to herself. I’ve learned more about the Nutcracker in three weeks than I did in all my previous 36.5 years. It’s quite remarkable what a yound girl will latch on to and I love it.
Churlita – thanks, we dig her too. The holiday was better than I could have pictured and can only imagine next year will be as fun. Best holiday wishes to you as well.

Adorable! She looks like a cute princess in her head to toe pink outfit. I hope she had a great Christmas too!
Everyone’s always in the I hate Christmas/Christmas songs/Christmas decorations bandwagon. I shamelessly love all!

Felisa – I’m in a bit of a post-Christmas funk to be honest. I haven’t had this much fun at Christmas in quite a long time. It was really neat to see the world open up for our daughter over the past month. Her creativity is simply hilarious and she may even have her first imaginary friend, Fritz. Yes, the same Fritz who gets greedy and breaks Clara/Marie’s Nutcracker toy given to her by Herr Drosselmeyer.

First – cute ruffly pants! Second – adorable little galoshes!
I have to say that I’ve so enjoyed this Christmas with a toddler and for the first time as an adult, I understood what people have said about children around Christmas. It was so much fun experiencing it with him and I know that it can only get more fun in the years to come. And, like you, I’ve got the post-Christmas blues because it’s over and it makes me sad.

  8. SM says:

Third – I was just looking at the latest pictures of Miss A and her hair is just adorable. She’s like a little miniature of Mrs. L (seriously – that smile?), but with your hair. I love it.

  9. egan says:

SM – you like the Thomas boots? I happen to think they look pretty cute on her even though she’s a girl and stuff. Isn’t it amazing to watch them learn right before your eyes? There’s something magical about Christmas and children that’s hard to explain. Perhaps it’s because I have incredibly fond memories of the holidays as a child. I’m glad it went well for you and the little man. I can tell you he will be lots of fun next time around and I can only imagine Baby Singe will look forward to it more. She has a monster crush on Fritz of Nutcracker fame.
SM – I love it, a multiple comment day. Been a long time since I’ve had one of those on my blog. Anyways, her hair rocks and is totally out there with the curls. Her smile and eyes are all her mom, it’s very cute. The hair, that is totally me as a kid and now you can see why my mom forced me to dress as a girl on Halloween all the time. Take care SM and best wishes for a great 2010.

She is really growing up! I hope you had a great holiday and have a Happy New Year, Egan :)

  11. egan says:

JLee – thank you very much. She is turning into a big girl very fast. Happy New Year!

  12. Sudoku says:

Adorable little girl. Happy New Year to you and your family !

  13. egan says:

Sudoku – thanks for the “visit” and compliment. Best wishes for a great 2010.
